What a difference a can of paint can make and some old fence boards!
Look! No more burnt stove hood and walls.
Notice the trim around the doors . Next we are going to paint the doors the same as the cabinets.
Couldn't stop with the cherry border on the wall I put some on my bread box(a lot faster than painting).
I used a cute shelf normally used for hanging pans but I turned it into a valance with punch cups hanging from the hooks. I got them at either Goodwill or a garage sale, (cost:$2.50)
I am enjoying the new look and now looking forward to decorating for the holidays!

On the home front...
Things have been pretty crazy around here as I prepare to get a few of my grandkids until my daughter gets well. I am trying to do some fall cleaning. I have the best friends ever! I will show you some before and after pictures of my kitchen. Could not have done it without help from friends!
Ok so here is a before picture of the kitchen where my husband tries to burn us down at least once a day.

A face lift for my kitchen!
I have the best friends ever! I am possibly getting some grandkids from foster care and needed to make some major improvements inside and outside of my house. Money was an issue since I didn't really have extra...
Anyway here are some of the during and after pictures.
My friend Margo is short enough to crawl on top of my fridge and get the hard to reach places. Notice the cupboards and how they look before the face lift!

Here I am at the market...
It is definitely the first day of fall and I could really feel the fresh crispness in the air. Things are winding down and it just simply feels like fall. Here is a picture of my booth today in its simplicity.
Next week will be my last day at the market until spring of 2013.
Now the excitement begins! I can already hear Jingle Bells and Winter Wonderland playing in my head! I can't stop all of these Christmas ideas formulating and transposing into ornaments and decorations!
Stay tuned!....

It's all about the shoes!
I just finished these witch shoes and had a blast! Working shouldn't be this much fun!
What do you think if I do elf shoes for Christmas? Hmmmmmm. Just can't get this brain to stop!

Mini owls!
Shoot! I forgot that I hadn't painted the backs and edges. But you get the picture. We will see how they do this weekend.
Boo Who!
I know! I know! That wasn't very funny but I do my best! I made a ton of owls for the market and here are a few. My daughter Kina and my dear friend Denise encouraged me to make tiny ones so I did. I will post them next!
Witchful Thinking!
I had a great time making these! I have to tell the truth... I snagged the idea from Pinterest, but had to create my own patterns.

Wow! Another day at the market!
I love my customers! They always make me feel so amazing! I love hearing the stories about the things they have purchased or received as gifts from The Pickety Place! I am so very grateful for the gifts that I have been granted from my Heavenly Father.
I was sooooo exhausted from trying to replace inventory from last weeks market but after setting up the customers just invigorated me yet again! It is so fun listening to their cheerful chatter as they find something that I have created that they "must have"! Again a BIG THANK YOU! To all of my customers! You bring great joy and make it all worth while.
Below are some of my newest items ENJOY!

My Idea of Repurposed!
I was so lucky to have a friend stop by my shop “The Pickety Place” and share a find of his and then
even tell me where I could get some as well. Below you will find a huge stack of Tulip and Daffodil bulb crates that they were kind enough to give me for FREE! I wasn’t sure exactly what I would use them for and was coming up with every excuse in the book to my husband to help him understand my reason for getting so many (156) to be exact, but he has discovered that he is better off to remain optimistic that many great things will come if he would help me load them all. What a sweet man. So, when you see my formula below you will begin to understand that......
This Plus…..
This, plus…..
This =
THIS!!!!!!!! and This!!!!!
I had a blast! I first made just the little cabinet that is attached
to the Potting bench and it was really cute, but then the whole
potting bench came to mind and I thought “could I…..???” Then
Wah lah! Just some old boards and screws and three crates and
there you have it. I will be showing more inventions later.
